Mormon Awakenings: 011: Santa Claus and Drug Addicts

Jack Naneek tackles life’s purposes in teaching us fact from fiction, faith from fantasy.  He dives deeply into our errors of prejudging others based on appearance or disposition.  The storms of life are considered, and, understood as necessary for showing us that there is a more powerful force guiding us through them.

  1. This episode really speaks to me. I’ve saved it and will come back to it when I need a reminder to “Let Go and Let God”. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this.

  2. Needless to say I was the jerk who told everyone that Santa Claus doesn’t exist. Having found that out own my own since I was 5 years old, and went around telling everyone including my own daughter when she was 4.

Now, I kind of wish I hadn’t and enjoyed the magic of belief… bursting other people’s bubbles is not enjoyable, but intervening when the time is right seems like a sacred responsibility.

    Thanks yet again.

    1. Thanks David
I too am realizing I don’t need to go streaking through the chapel building yelling there’s no Santa Claus. Nor do I need to white knuckle it. Slowly I’m finding my middle ground.

  3. I loved your message, especially about judging someone to be a goody-goody, when no one really knows their background. And the warning to not enable someone like this stake leader did with his son. I’m afraid my own son could end up a user if I enable. Anyway, just really like listening to you! 🙂

  4. Thanks Kay. Life ain’t easy. But sometimes it ain’t as hard we make it. Good luck with your son. Our paths are set up for our ultimate good!
